The Reading Garden at CCSF Proposal

The purpose of The Reading Garden is to increase the sense of community and feelings of well-being among City College of San Francisco students and staff.

Leslie Simon, the owner of the project wanted to use as a source of inspiration a fragment of the poem "Winter Song" by Lucha Corpi. This poem gave birth to the design concept: pages blown by the wind.

Nothing is fixed or perpetual

not rain

or seed

or you or I

or our grief

in this world that is bleeding

because we’re forever cutting paths

opening our way along unfamiliar roads

conquering the fury of oblivion verse by verse.
